Who We Are
Powered by Elevate Latinos and the Latino Donor Collaborative, this space was built for those of us that want to share facts, data, and stories that truly reflect who we are beyond the false stereotypes.
Our team is a mix of researchers and creatives with a purpose: exposing the truth, breaking down the numbers, and celebrating the people building the present and future of this country: us.
Why This Briefing Exists
Too often, we hear the same false stereotypes:
“Latinos don’t finish school.”
“They’re only good at hard labor.”
“They’re not interested in leadership or innovation.”
“They’re not part of the American story.”
“They are not American but only undocumented immigrants"
But none of that reflects our reality.
Here’s the truth:
- If U.S. Latinos were a country, our $4 trillion GDP would be the 5th largest economy in the world.
- 1 in 4 Americans under 18 is U.S. Latino; more that 94% are U.S. citizens. We are the future of this country.
- We have the highest workforce participation of any major group in the U.S.
- U.S. Latino entrepreneurs are starting businesses faster than anyone else.
But somehow, the media still misses all this. That’s why the Elevate Latinos blog exists: to set the record straight. Loudly.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just about stats.
It’s about YOU.
You, reading this, are part of something massive, even if no one’s told you that before. The way our community is growing, building, working, and leading is your story, too.
When young Latinos know the truth, that we’re not just surviving, but that we’re driving the U.S. economy, it changes everything. It builds confidence and it gives you the power to show up differently, whether you're in school, at work, or out changing the world.
We’re done letting other people tell our story.
It’s time we own it and use our voices.
